Braylon completing reign as New Year’s Baby

Braylon Curtis Vogelheim, the first 2012 baby born in the area will be ending his reign soon.

The son of Evan “Mookie” Vogelheim and Blake Bruning of Rogers City, baby Braylon was born Jan. 4, 2012at 4:58 p.m. He also was named the Alpena Regional Medical Center’s first baby. He is the couple’s first child.

Braylon is a content toddler, who loves playing with his toys. He started walking at 10 months and already is saying “dadda” and “hot.” 

He sleeps through the night at his grandparents’ homes, but is still getting up during the night to the chagrin of his mother and father.

“He still gets up once or twice a night,” said Mookie.

“It was an exciting year,” said grandmother Annette Vogelheim. “He’s a very happy baby.”

Braylon’s grandparents are Holly a

nd Bruce Bruning and Curt and Annette Vogelheim. His great-grandparents are Don and Shirley Wenzel, Betty Vogelheim, Marilyn Stone and Betty Bruning.

Like baby Braylon, the first baby’s parents will be the recipients of many gifts and services in 2013. 

The rules are as follows:

The winning baby must be born after midnight Dec. 31 to residents of Presque Isle County excluding the Onaway Area Community School district because of the contest conducted by the Onaway Outlook. 

Entries must be submitted to the Advance office within 48 hours after the child’s birth.
