Spirit week has invaded the hallways at Rogers City High School as students prepare to celebrate winter homecoming this weekend.

Students have been busy decorating their hallways in the spirit competition. They are also gaining points for their class by participating in spirit week activities. Monday, students dressed in white and black as they attempted to white out or black out the school.

Tuesday, students celebrated fictional character day with many dressing up as cartoon characters while others were a bit more creative. Wednesday was music genre day and Thursday was color for a cause day.

Friday is of course orange and black day as the students will celebrate a pep rally in the afternoon.

The Rogers City Hurons boys’ basketball team will host Newberry Friday night for the homecoming game. The junior varsity game begins at 6 p.m. with the varsity game to follow. Homecoming representatives will be announced at halftime.

The “Glitz and Glam” dance, sponsored by the sophomore class, will be Saturday evening from 7:30 until 11:30 p.m. with the crowning of the queen to take place around 8 p.m.
