Pamela D. Garland

Pamela D. (Oncina) Garland, 68, of Oscoda, formerly of Harrisville, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 at Lincoln Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community.

Born March 16, 1945 to Herschel and Jean (Henderson) Thompson in Highland Park, she was raised in Hazel Park. In 1982, she moved to Harrisville, where she owned and operated the Top Stop restaurant until 2000. On November 11, 2000, she married William Garland in Oscoda.

Pam is survived by her husband, Bill; two daughters, Pam Susan (Scott McKenzie) of Ossineke and Jackie (Jim) Kelly of Harrisville; one son, Charlie Oncina II of Lachine; four grandchildren, Tara Roe, Christopher Susan, Alysse Susan and Walker Kelly; three great-grandchildren, Brielle Susan-Pettit, and Brendan and Braylin Roe; two stepchildren, David (Mary) Garland of Glendale Arizona and Laura (Bill) Lucker of Huntington, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel Thompson and Jean Berry; and one brother, Daniel Thompson.

Burial will follow at Mt. Joy Cemetery in Haynes Township.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  www.gilliesfuneralhomes.com
