City hosting annual tree lighting ceremony

The celebration will go on, the city of Onaway will host the annual tree lighting event in Chandler Park Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. Anyone can sponsor a tree for a fee of $35 and all proceeds from the event will be put towards the 2014 Fourth of July fireworks show. Those wishing to sponsor a tree need to simply pay the fee and fill out the registration form with information.

Sponsorship needs to be completed no later than Nov. 25 as the trees will go up with their sponsorship information by Nov. 27 allowing time for those sponsors who wish to decorate their trees to do so before the event.
