Frank Nagy

Frank Nagy, 90, of St. Helen passed away peacefully in the loving warmth of his daughter and son-in-law’s home, Violet and Al Maten, in Cheboygan Saturday, October 26, 2013. Born in Detroit to Joseph and Julia (Toth) Nagy May 1, 1923, Frank spent his youth in Detroit. He was a proud World War II veteran who served in the South Pacific during very difficult combat years.

Frank is survived by his four children, Helen (Cliff) Smith of Gaylord, Joe (Debbie) Nagy of Caro, Violet (Al) Maten of Cheboygan and Julie Anglim of Harbor Springs. He prayed every day for his six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. They were a source of great joy and pride for him.

A memorial service to celebrate Frank’s life is planned for Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at North Country Baptist Church located at 14392 M-68 Highway, Millersburg. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Frank’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project, which supports injured soldiers returning home from the current conflicts and provides assistance to their families.  https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org. Contributions also may be made directly to North Country Baptist Church for furnishings needed for their new church.

Arrangements were handled by Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen and Nordman-Christian Funeral Home in Cheboygan.
