Lawrence Bishop
Lawrence Bishop, 90, of Onaway died on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Medilodge of Hillman. The son of Charles and Ethel (Beebe) Bishop, Lawrence was born in Cheboygan August 3, 1923. He married Evelyn M. Barnby November 8, 1946 in Saginaw. She precedes him in death.
Surviving Lawrence are his daughter, Bonnie (Greg) Wang of Onaway; a son, Larry (Brenda) Bishop of Onaway; four grandchildren, Harley Wang, Andy and Aaron Bishop, and Ashlee (Scott) Speed. Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, John, Lloyd and Willard; an infant sister, Amy; a grandson, Kirt Wang; and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Steven, Sarah, NaLeah and Emily.
Visitation and the funeral service were at the Chagnon Funeral Home Monday and Tuesday, with the Rev. Larry Kirby officiating. Military honors by VFW Post 5857 followed the funeral service. Lawrence’s final resting place is at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tower. Donations to honor Lawrence’s memory should be made to the VFW Post 5857 or to Hospice of Michigan.
