Carmeuse Jeep Cherokee photos appear in latest Chrysler dealership catalogs

Back in early July 2013, a photo shoot was conducted at Carmeuse Lime & Stone Calcite Plant and along a stretch of U.S.-23 north of Rogers City.

A downstate ad agency had obtained a Michigan Department of Transportation permit to close the road and used the scenic stretch of state highway as part of a photo shoot for Chrysler’s redesigned 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The firm took photos for the vehicle catalog, which will be distributed to dealerships.

Most of the photos at Carmeuse property were taken along the Lake Huron beach. It shows the new vehicle splashing through mud and climbing over large limestone rocks.

Tom Roche of Troy, who photographed the images, believes they were for the U.S. market only. It is believed that tens of thousands of catalogs were distributed.

“Roche Photo was very excited to work with the city of Rogers City and the Carmeuse mine to make this project a great success,” said Roche. “Many thanks to both for their efforts and accommodations.” He took about 10,000 images during his time here.
