Cardinal track team gearing up for regional meet

The Onaway Cardinals’ track team travels to Marion Saturday for the regional meet where the athletes will look to qualify for the state finals in their events.

Monday the teams were in Central Lake for an invitational featuring 16 teams. The boys’ team finished the day in eighth place.

Joe O’Bradovich took first in the high jump as he cleared 5’10”. O’Bradovich was also sixth in the shot put. Cody Morell was sixth in the discus with a new personal record of 104’4”.

The 3,200-relay team of O’Bradovich, Joe Traynham, Noah Bacon and Seth Satchwell was fifth. Cameron Horn was fifth in the 110 hurdles and seventh in the 300 hurdles.

Andrew Haske was eighth in the 110 hurdles and Dalton Adkins was ni

nth in the 100-meter dash.

The 400-relay team of Adkins, Jamal Porter, Bacon and Joe Sigsby was fourth. Adkins was ninth in the 200 and Traynham was fourth in the two-mile.

THE GIRLS’ team was 11th overall. The 800-relay team of Elyse Arkwood, Vydalia Letts, Shelby Wolgast and Mackenzie Koloff-Parr finished fifth. The same group was seventh in the 400-relay.

Claire Bastian was 13th in the mile and 10th in the two-mile. Letts was 11th in the 400. The 3,200-relay team of Arkwood, Kate Olmstead, Bastian and Signe Magnussen was ninth.
