Marie Agnes (Prell) Basel

Marie Agnes (Prell) Basel, 89, of Hawks, was called to her heavenly home May 21, 2014.

She was born November 8, 1924, in Alpena, to Edward and Martha (Mielke) Prell.

Their marriage was blessed with eight children, Amy (Gerald) Melvin of West Branch, Faye (Gerald) Marenkewicz of Flushing, Beth (John) Noffze of Hillman, Edith (Tom) Novak of Freeland, Andrew (Rose) Basel of Madison, Wisconsin, Daniel (Lisa) Basel of Mankato, Minnesota, Mark (Luann) Basel of Hillman and Bonnie (Randy) Grulke of Hawks; 30 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was at the Beck Funeral Home Saturday, May 24, from 3 until 8 p.m., with a prayer service conducted at 7:45 p.m. Visitation continued Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church in Hillman, from 1 p.m. through the time of the funeral at 2 p.m., with the Revs. Jeff Londgren and Daniel Basel officiating.
