It is a rematch of the 2013 Division 4 semifinals as the Hurons take on Kalamazoo Christian for the state championship today. Rogers City comes in on a roll, confident that they belong in the title game.

Weather in East Lansing is much warmer than yesterday’s semifinal game. Temperatures around the 5:30 p.m. start are expected to be in the low 70s with sunshine clear skies. The Division 4 championship is the last one of the day at Secchia Stadium on the campus of Michigan State University.

Many  of the Huron players have been here before, playing at the state championship level since their Little League days.

Kalamazoo Christian is no stranger to the state tournament. Before the division system came into play in 1998, the school won state championships in Class C in 1996 and 1997. The school won Division 3 championships in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2002. They followed that with Division 4 championships in 2013.

The Hurons earned runner-up trophies in 2001 and 2004.
