Third Street pavement work continues

Construction along Third Street, or Business Route 23, is moving along right on schedule as Bolen Asphalt Paving began milling off the old asphalt Tuesday morning on the west end of the road.

Milling will be done and paving will follow with the schedule showing Bolen will be working today through Saturday and returning Monday and Tuesday of next week to finish up. During these seven days, traffic will be single-lane with flagmen. On-street parking will be impacted.

It is expected that by the middle of the week the milling should impact the central business district and the process will be similar to the one used when Erie Street was improved earlier this summer.

The schedule is s

ubject to change based on weather conditions and all those impacted are asked to have patience as the work is completed.

It is a Michigan Department of Transportation project and the city has no control over the schedule. Sidewalk approaches were completed last week on the east end of the road and milling will run from west to east.
