Ocqueoc man dies as result of injuries suffered in US-23 crash

An Ocqueoc man died from injuries suffered in an early morning accident Mov. 19 along Bradley Highway in Rogers City.

The Rogers City Police Department responded to a two-vehicle personal injury accident Nov. 19 at 6:45 a.m. on Bradley Highway, north of Larke Avenue.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a 2003 Buick passenger vehicle operated by Dr. Gregory Proulx, 60, was traveling south along Brad

ley Highway on the snowy/icy roadway when the vehicle began to fishtail and lost control, spun and veered into the northbound lane and collided with a 2006 pickup truck with a “V” plow, operated by a 59-year-old male of Rogers City.

The driver of the Buick was transported to Alpena Regional Medical Center via Allied EMS. He was later transferred to Saginaw St. Mary’s of Michigan Hospital and passed away Friday. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

According to a department press release, alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected and seatbelts were used. The accident remains under investigation.

The Rogers City police were assisted at the scene by the Rogers City Fire Authority, Presque Isle County Sheriff’s Department, Allied EMS and accident investigators from the Alpena County Sheriff’s Department.
