Snowmobile show on tap for weekend

Warm weather has moved into the area this week and brightened the mood of many. However, there is one group hoping that some snow remains this weekend as the 11th Annual Rogers City Antique and Vintage Snowmobiles Show, swap meet and vintage ride are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

All events associated with the show are open to the public. Shuttle service to and from the show will be available as well.

The featured sled for this year’s event will be the Yamaha. Events begin Friday at noon with the vintage ride beginning at the Knights of Columbus Hall located on County Road 451. The ride will be followed by a bonfire and hot dog roast along with 50/50 raffles. The bar will open at 3 p.m. Friday and karaoke will begin at 8 p.m.

Registration for the show begins Saturday at 9 a.m. and the show will run through 3:30 p.m. There is no charge to be in the show but a $10 charge for those wishing to be involved in the swap.

A Bloody Mary bar will begin at 9 a.m. in the hall and the bar opens at noon. A whitefish and pork roast dinner will be served at 5 p.m.

The awards banquet, trophy presentation and Chinese raffle winners will be announced beginning at 5:30 p.m. The live auction will also take place at that time. A live band will entertain the crowd beginning at 8:30 p.m.
