Masons sponsor Flag Day observance

It was patriotism was on display during Rogers City’s flag day celebration at Lakeside Park.

Led by members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 607 and flag waving scouts, a parade along the Avenue of Flags ended at the Sailor’s Memorial for speeches from local dignitaries, including Rogers City mayor Tom Sobeck and organizer Dave Nadolsky.

The Rogers City Band then entertained those at the park with several patriotic songs.

Later, Boy Scouts from Troop 6 conducted a flag retirement ceremony at the edge of the parking lot.

The Presque Isle County Historical Museum had its uniform exhibit on display at the pavilion.

The event was put on by the Rogers City Masonic Lodge.
