For the last couple of decades, Presque Isle County baseball and softball teams have advance to the MHSAA state finals. Some have played in semifinal games and others made it all the way to title games.

For the second year in a row, the Hurons of Rogers City (31-6) are Division 4 regional champs. In the regional semifinals, they defeated Rapid River (19-15) on a walk-off RBI base hit from Courtney Streich in the bottom of the seventh for a 3-2 win.… Read Full Story

Four teams will play in Rogers City with a regional title on the line. Rogers City faces Rapid River in the 10 a.m. game. It is a rematch of last year’s regional championship game won 6-3 by the Hurons.

The baseball and softball district tournaments were played at Johannesburg-Lewiston High School and the Hurons made an impact on the state tournament on both fields.

The Cardinal baseball team got its state tournament run off to a terrific start with an 11-3 victory in Tuesday’s predistrict contest with Posen.
